Mind Your Motivations

A Poem Inspired by Numbers 11:4-6 (NLT) - Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. “Oh, for some meat!” they exclaimed. 5 “We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted. 6 But now our appetites are gone. All we ever see is this manna!”

What are Your Motivations?

There is no error with God
The error is the way you choose perception
Desiring something
Wanting something
Needing it
Demanding and insisting on it
My God I have a right
Until there is a reminder

While they were yet eating they were destroyed with the food in their mouth.

Kinda vindictive it seems
Unsporting
To desire
To need
To lead to open rebellion.
There’s the real problem with perception

I can want it so bad I turn away
I can need it so bad I turn back
I can demand it to the point I convince others
We should have it
Regardless what has to happen to get it.
And then there is this reminder

While they were yet eating they were destroyed with the food in their mouth.

A Closing Thought:

It’s not difficult for others to convince us or to convince ourselves, what we want is what we need. The difficulty arises in realizing there is a reason we don’t have it and being patient until we get it. Today’s Inspiration is a reminder, forget where you came from, consider only lightly where you’re going – remember the reason you started this journey.
