A Special Thought to Share: Customized Ebooks

Give a Blurb Customized Ebook

It’s that time of the year, and there are probably a lot of gifts on your list. And if you run your own business (even if it’s just you and your blog), you have even more gifts to give. You know, gifts for clients, business partners, vendors, and customers. That gets expensive.

An ecard is a popular choice, but honestly —it’s not much of a gift. Instead, consider giving an ebook made with Blurb for something truly memorable (and economical). Whether it’s your writing, your images, your designs, a selection of your favorite blog posts—or some representation of whatever it is you and your business do—it’s an e-gift that’s all you.

Blurb's ebooks run right on the iPad or in the iBooks app that’s part of Mac OS X Mavericks. For the Apple-free folks on your receiving list, you can create an Instant PDF that’s readable on pretty much every device.

Blurb’s fixed-format ebooks can include text, imagery, links, audio, and video. So you could even include a little office Christmas caroling as an added bonus. Or not; that depends on your singing voice. But a link to your website? That’s a no-brainer.

Ebooks are extremely inexpensive. For just $9.99 you can create an ebook of any size and then give away as many copies as you like simply by sending the download link to your customers, clients, and friends. The Instant PDF is just $4.99 to create.

And for those really special clients, you can still make a gift they can physically open—a printed book.
So, why not get started today?

A Favorable Life Promise: 30 days of Affirmation

A Life of Favor: Promise

Deuteronomy 28:12

The power to lend is a gift. It is brought by the presence of fortune. From favor you acquire a lifestyle beyond compare. And yet favor is not simply riches.

Favor is a precious tool whose presence affords you a door of opportunity in every area. From the scripture, you are blessed in the city, blessed in the fields, all the people shall call you blessed. The reason why? God pours out an opportunity for you to share the gift with others. Even those who don’t yet know God will use statements like “fortune has smiled on you”. Or “favor has made a presence with you”. It stands as a distinguishment of honor. It also reminds that not everyone has this personal gift. So appreciation and gratitude are a simple cost to give willingly.

You have but to Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

He provides this miracle to you.

I, and my companies, have. To lend toward many interests without borrowing as is provided by the favor of God; His word is my testimony of promise.

He promises you:
Deuteronomy 28:12
(NASB) The LORD will open to you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give you rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand;

30 days of Affirmation: Redemption

Pardon My Iniquity: A Redeeming Prayer

Psalm 25:5-11

Mistakes and missteps happen. Many times they are simply unavoidable because we are heavily influenced by our surroundings. We become influenced by things we see as natural to the eye. This could be friends, family, and acquaintances. The issue that arises is one of which circumstances, over the course of time, contribute to a state of blindness.

This is makes it the more important to know yourself. In effect to establish your foundation in Christ.

This is a time when every man, individual, has to know of himself and say within himself; I know I've been wrong. I know where I went wrong. I acknowledge my error. And, this is what I’m going to do to handle it.

It begins with an acknowledgment before God. And then the evidence before man. As it is written,

Psalm 25:5
God's Word Translation: For the sake of your name, O Lord, remove my guilt, because it is great.

A Confirming Recitation:

Pardon My Iniquity, for your mercy’s sake O Lord. Remember not the issues of my youth, my indiscretions.
Remember me as you made me to be.

He promises you:

1st John 1:9

(ESV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Being Fed

Inspired by Deuteronomy 8:3

(HCSB) He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then He gave you manna to eat, which you and your fathers had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Holiday Thoughts: Blurb's Chicken Soup For Your Soul!

It can be really hard buying books for people as gifts. After all, you never know just which books they already have. And then when you do find the right book and give it to them, how do you make it really personal? Put in a book plate? Write an inscription? How do you make the whole thing totally them?

These personalized “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books are one really great way to do it. Not only do you get to choose from five different story themes (from “Christmas Stories” to “Giving thanks”), you can personalize it in ways you just can’t with a conventional book. As the title suggests, these are stories meant to comfort and heal.

Your custom “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book will truly be a book for them because the book is printed with their name on the cover, as the recipient. And it’s truly from you because your name is printed on the cover as the giver. You can even include an inscription inside the book and on the back cover. Even add a photo to the back.

There are other nice options to choose from, like the type of cover you’d like and the type of paper. It takes just about five minutes to make it a truly custom book. And chances are, it’s something they’ll love forever. And a 60-page book starts at just $24.95.

There’s a quick video here: Chicken Soup for the Soul that shows you how to fill in all the info using a simple online tool. The books are all done by Blurb, so you know the quality is going to be great.

Prayer and Finding Focus - the Simple Way

The best way to gain focus is to focus on work at work and let God focus on the work. If you ever desire to reach the goal, or understand the complete purpose of what you’re doing, you have to be doing something.

To make this a little more clear.

You know you have problems. I know I have problems. The world has its set of problems galore. But to solve these problems takes a voice that few have heard, and hasn’t especially heard in some time.
The voice of faith, saying - it’s not about me.
God, Your will be done.

A Recitation - Of Prayer and Remembrance

With thanksgiving God I come to you.
In Heaven my Father
And on earth My guide
I humbly reference you by name
Jehovah Jireh My God who provides.

I come bringing these words
Your words
Your word.
My truth…
The Lord IS my shepherd, I shall not want.
And with this promise
That my god shall supply all my needs
- according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

Lord where my heart aches for lack
And my eyes strain for want
I ask that your provision be laid for me
Revealed to me that I and they may know
That no good thing do you withhold from those who walk right in your eyes.

Lord I pray your favor would shower this house with your presence and cover these your servants
In Jesus Name,

Living - When it means to Deny Yourself

Today's Inspiration is based on choosing The Not-so Easy Way Out.

Scripture verse: Matthew 16:24,25

(NIV) Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 for whoever wants to save their life will lose it but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

Can We Talk, The Not so Subtle Conversation?

It would be easy to craft beautiful words and inspired drawings if all of desire could be summed in hope. Yet that is only a half, hope that is. The truth is more reflective, more a collective of things which occur and reoccur occasionally bringing with it information.
What would become revelation in fact.

Mind Your Motivations

A Poem Inspired by Numbers 11:4-6 (NLT) - Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. “Oh, for some meat!” they exclaimed. 5 “We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted. 6 But now our appetites are gone. All we ever see is this manna!”

Today's Meditative Thought: Keep On Pushing

Psalm 118:13, 14 (NLT) -My enemies did their best to kill me, but the Lord rescued me. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.

(HCSB) You pushed me hard to make me fall, but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.

The preceding scripture symbolizes my view and the voice of the lion’s well. The inspiration I draw from the word of God, indeed from The Lion of the tribe of Judah (His Son) is have no fear God’s got your back.

For today’s inspiration there’s a look at life as a picture. An image where man has tried and will try to push you down. Whether for his own gain or because he simply wants to witness your demise, there will be things to cause you to stumble. These things though don’t have to defeat you. You can use them to remind you who you (I) choose to walk with. Again God’s got your back. God will help you and defend your cause. And in overcoming there is a hallelujah.

As scribed in the second verse, the writer declares for the reader, the LORD is my strength and my Song…  Translated – Hallelujah or (Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy)

He has become my Salvation… Hallelujah (God’s got my back) (Jesus to the rescue)

The Great Commandment: Love Your Neighbor

First broached in the Ten Commandments (Lev 19:18) and expounded further by the author himself (Matthew 22:36-40). Love your neighbor is a huge commandment that is of such importance it is one of only two the author iterates is the compass of the law.

But then the question becomes who is my neighbor?

The most immediate answer being, how big is your God?
How expansive is your neighborhood?

To love your neighbor as you love yourself isn’t limited by or to what feels good. It’s not subject to what they can do for you or where they’re from. It’s only subject is, how much do you love you? This is how much you’re to love your neighbor.

As Christians we inhabit a huge neighborhood produced by a huge God. A God who chose to share His love unlimited with you and for you. Giving His son, His only begotten, flesh and blood to redeem mankind.

He gave everything to and for you. His friend his creation, man. And his only command is to choose,

The Grass, The Flowers and Remembering to Breathe

Isaiah 40:7, 8 (NIV) The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

There are moments when as beautiful as we are we forget the land is shaped by God. This is His garden, we are His handiwork.
As inspired as we feel to be touched by His words. We still so easily shrink away in the moments or situations of trouble. Faltering as the faded flower or withering as dying grass because it seems, the wind, particularly harsh to be in his presence on a specific day.
However these are the days when our beauty is made.
Shared with the garden and on full display for all who venture in, we are here being touched (transformed) by God.

Consider it a sharing of the seed He’s put inside you, an expansion of His promise.
We are here for a moment. A time and a place of His desire; but what we have to look forward to is a permanent presence with Him.
What he has established (His Word) will endure forever.

May God’s Breathe (SPIRIT) push you forward this morning - evening - afternoon.

Today's Inspiration - Hallelujah

Today’s hallelujah is brought to you by
The light.

That big beautiful shinning bulb that hit my eyes first thing this morning.
I awoke
It’s morning time
And I can see it.

I get a chance to live another day
Another opportunity to be better than I was and better than I think to be.

Yesterday, It came and went
Today I can spark the revolution I feel inside,
The revelation I’m better than this
This isn't the end.
This painting ain't complete
I got some seeing to do.
I’ve got some eyes to open
Knock a few heads if I have to
But wait...
You’re not supposed to just knock people in the head
Are you?

A Prayer of Manifest Destiny

This is my cry to you,
My Father, My delivery. My Redemption.
The voice of my victory.
The angel of my influence - Mighty God who is who was and who shall be
Glory majesty dominion and power ; creator of heaven and earth and all the hosts of heaven say amen.
The light of my joy and my strength, I come to you.

Before you I lay, I cry, I pray hear my heart’s song.
Above the words - hear my contemplation. My inner thoughts, my flesh, my soul cry to you My God.

I know what I’m supposed to do. I know what I’ve been taught to do. I know what I want to do. But right now I come to you…

Open my eyes I pray open my life to you as you reveal in your word  Your promise to keep me in perfect peace as my mind is stayed on you.

Father I deny my anxious thoughts leaning and looking to you my author my refiner
I refuse to any longer believe my trial, my test, is anything more than your hand conditioning me to be the jewel of your image.
God as you conform me to your word. To the image of your son; I cry out to you -
Let my light magnify you to the people and before these I influence. Lord according to your word let me be conformed to His image as you have destined and ordained. I trust you and the word of your promise that he who endures trial enduring temptation shall receive the promise of a crown of life. Father that your glory may shine through me. Lord I come to you awaiting you to lead me to the rock where I’m to be.

Believing by faith and trusting upon you, I come with thanksgiving in heart and hallelujah as my song I come in your son Jesus name. I call

Today's Inspiring Thought

2nd Chronicles 20:15b

Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde for the battle is not yours but God's.

I know there are times when everything around us screams doom and defeat. There are moments when odds look impossible. and fearing our end is almost sure  and eminent these are the moments we should pursue Him. These are moments, opportunities, God uses to show you and your opposition exactly who's fighting for you.

There then is no need to fear the impossible, rather expect and know God Delivers in the face of the improbable.

Developing into a voice to be Heard

Writing doesn't necessarily take more than an ability to put together words coherently. However it takes some artistry, some technique is required to be heard.

You have to be willing and actually say something.
Something that others are willing and wanting to hear.
This is how to gain readers and people willing to share your message with others.
This is also the path to developing an audience, i.e. a platform to be heard.

19 July 2013

Saying the Right Things

It's important to say the right thing during a given conversation. Almost important as listening, because of the responsibility of being appropriate or responsible.

Some might argue it's easy to say the first thing which comes to mind. However knowing your audience, requires sensitivity, and will help keep you from ruining the reputation for reliability you're trying to establish. Its almost the art of taming the tongue. But it more closely relates to establishing an expertise.

Saying the right thing to the right audience establishes you and your brand to a "target rich" environment of potential purchasers and advocates of your brand. In other words it can build your network faster and better than you can. And establish a truth; this author has a way with words.

Feeding From the Brook of His Word

There is a time when we’re challenged to find our way. In the middle of things we find too complicated to imagine they’re of any benefit, we will try to separate ourselves. Hiding away to prevent some cruel perception from becoming our reality. Forgetting if only for a moment the deliverances of the past, some might even find it cool to say - I will stop here for tomorrow I die.

Strange, yet many times and trials you’ve cried over.
But this is the one to break you; this is the one screaming, commanding a most urgent dispatch from heaven. The response being,
not – look how many times I carried you; but hey - I’ve still got your back.

It's here you hear the voice, the words which strengthen you to go on. Knowing that voice, the voice in you (today) and near you singing with you one song.

don't be afraid...
I've Got Your Back!

I Rose All Odds Against Me...

Today there is an unusually inspired interpretation of rap music. It may not seem especially spiritual (read that religious). Nevertheless I present to you a song that is as stirring with energy and inspiration as it is informative to issues we faceto today.

M.C. Hammer - Pump it Up (Here’s the news) available here: with its opening shot,
I rose all odds against me…

Have you ever felt there are things against you?

We’re told, in life to expect adversity; we’re instructed we will have troubles (John 16:33) but why worry He - Jesus, has withstood, overcome, conquered the tests of the world.
We're further told and given instruction through Paul in this word. “I can do all thing through Christ who Strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
These two verses, and remembering this particular song, this morning serve as a reminder things may, they will, come against you but your response doesn’t have to be defeat. You don't have to answer adversity with doubt, guilt, or insecurity. You can answer it with your faith. Jesus withstood, and I can do ALL Things thru Christ who strengthens me.
In fact M.C. Hammer’s entire first album Let’s Get it Started available here @ amazon is a reminder that you/ we can choose to build. We can choose to continue on through the struggle of our adversity and overcome. Or we can choose to lay down our profession (what we’re called to) and quit living - depending on the faith in you. And your belief in this truth;
God Is

In Control.

A Period to Conclude...

Looking into the void and finding there is no answer within you that compares to your thoughts of Him. God is present in the tough times, but I- we have to learn to realize that.
The fact that there may not be a response to every whim or desire is not a declaration of His absence; but rather it’s an opportunity to see how much latitude He gives for us to figure out what we want and what we need and what He means for us to succeed.
What we’ll find most times is our visual of success is often short of what true achievement is; I.E. being with HIM.

A Refreshing Drink

Psalm 84:2 -
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Even in the moments of temptation and doubt, when the flesh just urges and yearns to be satisfied (sometimes by worldly things)
The word of the LORD is true.
There is no thirst like a thirst for the Living God. and there is no satisfaction like the joy of His giving you a full drink.

His reminder "I AM - with you always"

Sharing an Inspiring Word

Proverbs 30:5 - Every word of God is tested; flawless. He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him...

How often the struggles and matters of life conspire to drain away any strength we may perceive ourselves as having. But then we're provided verses like this. God will Himself ensure we are ready and God Himself is our shield and refuge. At His moment, that moment when we shine and our voice is heard amongst the people, it will be fully prepared and readied by none other than the creator Himself.
Be Blessed.

A More Serious Thought

If making a mistake means death then the world would be an empty waste. Man would most certainly not be here but then neither would God's love, because after all he created a world for us to experience Him and His love. to know what true love is and ultimately to dwell with Him.
Thank you God
and thanks for a mother who reminds me of this when trouble comes.

Faith In A Settling Foundation

Some Things Only Become Evident When Tested
As we age, more and more we refine and define the image of ourselves. Specifically where we want to be and what we consider an appropriate view of certainty of life. It’s as simple as the old refrain “death and taxes.”

Over time we expect certain things; we search for particular characteristics. We examine more carefully everything before we offer it the label of success. Upon finding it we, at that point, define rest. Taking a moment to look back and find satisfaction in or with whatever we’re building. Or what’s been built to that point. Generally what we see we accept or propose ways to alter it and then after some time go about busyness. Most without a perception of the actual work that’s been done. The reality is few, during the course, actually perceive the truth of their labor. Again they are content, most, with what they see as progress in the development. Viewing the work through rose lenses everything seems good so it is deemed good until it gets tested.

The moment storms come every hidden flaw is exposed and the actuality is made apparent. Cracks in the shell, problems with the foundation. Shoddy work and or materials, poor workmanship – it all seems very devastating. Made the more worse because your insurance refuses to cover you. Now you’re facing total ruin as you try to handle the consequences you hoped to avoid in the first place. But fear not (Is. 41:10). There I a ray of hope, this was all seen before. Many have faced similar things both small and large. The community may be devastated but the Spirit remains. The Spirit is willing to continue and rebuild the moment the dust settles; the moment the foundation (earth) rests.
We can take inspiration in this. In whatever life you’re building. There may always be setbacks to triumph and some time delays. But faith comes in understanding, until the foundation is settled - is set, the entire building will be unfit and unstable and subject to the elements of wind and rain. Not likely to stand the test of the storm. Yet when the workmanship - the labor, is approved; there is nothing standing in your way. Best expressed in  (Psalm 12:6) The words of the Lord are Pure words. Like silver tried in a furnace of earth… (Proverbs 30:5)

Reality Regret and Resolution (the Three R's)

So here I am at my writing time and I decide to go for a swim to ease the tension building in me. Wanting to create something memorable, considering only what’s passable, I allow my thoughts to drift away. A foot at first here and there and then I’m fully immersed in a sea of me.

beyond existence
experience the fullest of everything meant to be; or

It presents an interesting spark though. How do I live?
How do you live when everything around you seems to be killing you inside and out.
But then I found this verse or rather this idea; Genesis 1:3 (NIV) And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Preceded by verse 2 (NASB) The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
The answer to Life and How I Live is remembrance.

God saw (He Sees) and He said. I can change your circumstances. With only a word.

Postage Due

Let me say first
Life has a way of issuing a reminder
Making man conform to the box he creates for himself
If this were my picture the only vision to see would be the black

The one color I’ve grown familiar
Lacking the presence to see the reds green and purples
Knowing the taste of vines I’d say they’re sweet
But for me there is only the box.

Perhaps I’d feel different inside the bottle
Less black
Less dark
Slightly exposed
But where I’ve been in search of wisdom is this box.

Carried around
Compressed – scanned – tested
Intake; receiving
Sent back for failing to address the pain I held inside

I had lied
I was a liar to men - to myself
And then the day arrived
I finally found

The Fear of Not Knowing

My God if I’m not alone
How is it I
Feel so one
Feel like everything I knew is gone
How do I if I could get it back?
How could I
If I’m not alone

No one to walk with me
Guide me
I know the road
But I chose
I go another way

Leading me far from you
Farther from sure
How go I
If I’m not alone
How do I feel so far away?

Heading for a destination
I refuse to yield
I now am on my way home

Where I was meant to be.
